Introduction

Welcome to Winter Carnival! Enter the special carnival event map, take a look around and experience a lot of fun minigames and exclusive rewards!

Take your time to visit this colorful festival area and try your luck in various mini games that require either skill or luck. Collect Carnival Coins by winning the games and exchange them for exclusive rewards in a special Carnival Shop.

How to start?

To enter the Winter Carnival, simply type "@carnival" in the in-game chat (towns-only) and experience the joy of festive games and exclusive rewards!

Please note that whenever you ride a Peco Peco and you enter the map, it will be unequipped.

Games Tickets

Getting Carnival Coupons

Speak to the Ticket Master NPC to receive 10 Carnival Coupons. You can exchange them to participate in various Festival Games.

New Carnival Coupons can be collected from Ticket Master NPC every 24 hours.

You can always check the number of currently held coupons or how much time is left to collect new coupons by speaking to the NPC again.

Note: Carnival Coupons are account bound, that means you won’t receive any additional coupons if you speak to the NPC with a different character from the same game account.

If you don't have any coupons, the game will ask if you want to play without it. On playing without coupon, you still need to beat the game to win the costume, however no carnival cash will be rewarded.

Mini Games Map Tags

Ticket Master NPC will tell you about all the games awaiting. He’ll also put color tags on your mini map so you can easily find all the games.

Reward Shop (Costumes)

As a reward after winning the games you’ll receive different amounts of Carnival Cash – a unique event currency which can be exchanged for various prizes in Ticket Master reward shop.

The better you score in games (or the bigger risk you take by placing bets in some of the games), the more Carnival Cash you’ll get from them.

Some games offer additional unique prizes for reaching best scores (i.ex. headgears).

Reward Limitations

There are Account Bound limitation to some items:

1. Items purchased from the Reward Shop are the only tradable versions.
2. Items rewarded from game, in which you paid carnival coupon are account bound and cannot be traded.
3. Once you have 0 carnival coupon, you can still play the games, in this case, if you win a costume it's an account bound costume and cannot be traded.

Costume Deleter

Since Account Bound costumes cannot be dropped or traded, a Mysterious Man NPC was added to allow you to delete all unneccessary and unwanted carnival costumes.

He can be found in central carnival area (223, 199).

Be sure to have only bounded-items in inventory, because NPC will delete all the selected item (bound + non-bound costumes).

Spin to the win!  Depending on which 3 porings the machine will randomly draw, you will receive different prizes! You also have a chance of winning a special headgear prize in this game!

Guesser

Simple game of guessing how many mobs have spawned on the guessing booth map with you! You have 3 rounds, mobs spawn for about 7 seconds. Then you have 15 seconds to submit your answer. Exact match gives highest score, then there's range check, ± 2 and then  ± 10 with lowest score.

Rewards:

• 5 -15 Carnival Cash - Cannot be won without coupon.
• Santa Poring Hat - Can be won without coupon. It is speculated that you can only win by getting within at elast total of 3 across your 3 guesses, however this is unconfirmed. NOTE: You only a get a CHANCE to win the hat if you get within 3. It is NOT a guaranteed hat.
  • Example: Within 1 away on each of the 3 guesses.
  • Example: Exact on 1, 1 away on one, 2 away on one.
  • Example: Exact on 2, 3 away on one.

Tips

• The playing surface is 14 X 14 = 196 squares.
• The monsters can be stacked on each other, which can make counting quite difficult. This adds an element of luck, unfortunately.
• The Wild Rose do not move. The Leat Cat and Onigiring will move after a few seconds, which can complicate your counting strategy.

Treasure Chest

Try to unlock the treasure chest by guessing a 3-number code. You will get six tries and receive tips after every try with information if you guessed the right numbers and if you put them in the right order.

• Carnival Cash - Cannot be won without coupon.
• Red Dress Hat - Can be won without coupon. Correctly guessing the number only gives a CHANCE of getting the hat. It is NOT a guaranteed hat.

Tips

• 0 is never a number. Also, there will never be two of the SAME number.
• A good guessing strategy is doing 1, 2, 3 and 4, 5, 6. That will tell you which group of numbers the 3 are in. Hopefully within your first two guesses, one group with have TWO or more of the numbers.
  • Example: 1, 2, 3 has one of the numbers. 4, 5, 6 has one of the numbers. This means 7, 8, 9 has one of the numbers.
  • Example: 1, 2, 3 has two of the numbers. 4, 5, 6 has none of the numbers. This means 7, 8, 9 has one of the numbers.

Wild Goose Chase

You will have to seek out and find the missing Onigiring on the event map. There is a time limit of 3 minutes to finish the task so be quick!

Rewards:

• Carnival Cash - Cannot be won without coupon.
• Snowflake Tiara - Can be won without coupon. If you find within 20 seconds, you win the hat.

Tips

• It is NOT recommend to play this one while someone else is playing Bludgeoned Riches. That one spawns many Onigiring, so it will be hard to find yours.
• It is recommend to use a class with Bloody Axe, use Authoritative Badges or get Agility Up right before you enter the map, so you can search faster. Skills are NOT usable on the map.
• A ranged class can be useful, since you don't have to walk up to the monster.
• The key with this one is getting lucky and hoping it spawns near you or having friends help you look and shout in #map when they find.

Bludgeoned Riches

You will be given 3 minutes to kill as many monsters on the event map as you possibly can. The monster will spawn every 18 seconds.You also have a chance of winning a special headgear prize in this game!

Simon Game

Simple memory game. Poring will show themself in order. You will have to repeat the order. There is a time limit for each round, and one wrong choice results in losing that round.

There are 2 different options for this game: easy mode (with original Simon rules) and hard mode (sequence of porings changing every round).

Requirement: 1 Carnival Coupon (Easy Mode) / 2 Carnival Coupons (Hard Mode)

Match Me

Simple memory game. There will be pair of porings hidden under the mud. You will have to find and match all the same pairs of porings in a time of 3 minutes.

Whac-A-Squirrel

You will be teleported into area where squirrel pop ups in random places within your view range. Your task is to click (whack) as much squirrels you can in a time limit of 3 minutes. The more points you earn, the better prize you’ll receive.

Rewards:

• Carnival Cash - Cannot be won without coupon. Around 45 (Desert Wolf rank) seems to give you cash. Not sure exactly, and not sure about values below that.
• Santa Hairband - Can be won without coupon. It appears you need to get around 64 (Valkyrie Randgris rank) or more in order to get the hat.

Tips

• As soon as you are teleported into the area, SIT down. This will prevent you from moving while clicking around.
• You can click just as or maybe even very slightly after they disappear and still get it counted. Just keep clicking!

Test Your Strength

This NPC is north of the Whac-A-Squirrel, kind of hidden. This is a game a luck where you choose a hammer and hope your swing is strong enough.

Tips

• Winning chance depends on your stats (Luk+Dex+Str ) / 2 and choice of hammer (if the NPC chooses the same as yours, the chance is higher).
  • Since we don't know which hammer the NPC will chose, it doesn't matter which hammer you choose. If you're out of coupons, just select the first hammer every time, until you win and get the ribbons!

Peco Race

Take part in Grand Peco race and bet which Peco that will win the race! The place on the podium your Peco will take after the race finish will determine how big prize you’ll get. You can only place 1 bet during the race. The races are organized once every 30 minutes. Remember that you only have a 10 minute time limit to collect your prize after the race finishes.

Tips

• The betting windows open at :10 and :40 minute marks of @time. You can bet until there is 1 minute the race. There will be a warning at 5 and 2 minutes and a message at 1 minute saying it is locked.
• After the race, you can talk to the NPC to claim you prize, until the betting window opens. If you don't claim in time you will LOSE your prize.

Black Jack

Popular card game in which the goal is to get 21, or as close as possible to 21 without going over this number. Play the game and make a bets to win against the card dealer. You can place a bet of 1, 3, 5 or 10 Carnival Cash or even take a risk and double your bet to win (or lose) even more Carnival Cash.

Requirement: 1 Carnival Coupon and at least 1 Carnival Cash

Can Play Without Coupon? No

Rewards:

• Carnival Cash - Cannot be won without coupon. You can win some carnival cash plus your bet back.
• Carnival Coupon - Cannot be won without coupon. You can win a carnival coupon and your bet back.
• Parade Cap - Cannot be won without coupon. You can win the hat and your bet back.

Tips

• The dealer stays at 17 or higher.
• If you have the same as the dealer when he stays, you will PUSH and get your money back.
• A SOFT value means you have an ACE that is counting as 11. A HARD value means you do not have an ace or you have an ace counting as 1. An ace counts as 1, if it giving you 11 makes you bust past 21.
• Here is basic strategy for beginners for this version of the game:
  • If the dealer has 12 - 16,
    • If you have less than HARD 12, HIT.
    • If you have HARD 12 or more, STAY. This is because the most likely value is 10 and the dealer is likely to bust, letting you win! The game forces you to hit if you have 12, unfortunately.
    • If you have a SOFT value of 12 - 16, HIT.
    • If you have a SOFT value of 17 or more, STAY.
  • If the dealer has 17 or more,
    • If you have less than the dealer, HIT until you either have more than the dealer (then STAY) or you bust.
    • If you have the same as the dealer, STAY so you PUSH and get your money back.
    • If you have more than the dealer, STAY and you will win.
  • If the dealer has 11 or less, I usually hit until I have a HARD 17 or more or I bust.
• There are more advanced strategies, especially once you include Double Down. However, this basic strategy should give you a overall winning chance.

Card Sharks

You will be shown a card. You must look at that card and decide if the next card that appears will be higher, lower or the same as current card. Your task is to successfully guess the correct outcome to win any prizes. The more successful guesses you make, the more prizes you win.You also have a chance of winning a special headgear prize in this game!
