Sage Job Change Guide

1. Go to the Magician's Academy (yuno 323,282) which is located at the north east corner of Juno. You must be a Mage at job level 40 or higher in order to start the quest.
2. Once inside, to your lefthand side talk to the Staff of the Academy NPC, Metheus Sylphe, in order to register for the Sage test.
There are 3 options you can choose to register for the quest:
- Option 1: Pay 70,000z
- Option 2: Bring an Old Magic Book and a Necklace of Wisdom
- Option 3: He will assign you randomly one of three sets of items listed in option 3 below:

After you are registered, you can go take the placement test from the Placement Test Professor.
3. Enter the next room. You should be in a hallway. Take the first left and you'll find the Written Test Professor NPC, Claytos Verdo.
4. Talk to him, and he will ask you a total of 20 questions. Each correct answer you get you receive five points. In order to pass this portion of the Sage test, you must have a total of at least 80 points to continue.

5. Once you've passed the written part of the test, you're off for some combat. Enter the hallway again and enter the room across the hallway. This is where the Practical Examination Professor is, Hermes Tris.
6. Speak to the professor and you'll enter a waiting room where you must wait your turn to take the fighting test. Enter the chat room to begin. In this test, you have to kill all monsters presented to you in 3 phases in a room. You have a maximum of 3 minutes in each phase to clear the monsters.
If you get knock out or cannot kill all monsters within the time limit, you will fail the test.

7. When you return, talk to the Practical Examination Professor again. At this point, the quest splits three ways. He will either assign you to study the history of Yggdrasil and will send you to the Biology Professor ("7A" Steps), tell you to study the elements and will assign you to the Physics Professor, Aebecee George ("7B" Steps), or you'll be sent to study with the History Professor ("7C" Steps). Depending on which one you get, refer to the appropriate section in the guide.
7A. Biology Class
Go to the Monster Museum. It's located on the same island right next to the Magician Academy.
Once inside, enter the back room and you'll find the Biology Professor. To get started in his class, he require you to bring him some items dropped by water element monsters. There are 3 possible sets, see the list below for more information.
For the next lesson, he will ask you to collect some items dropped by insectoid monsters. Again, there are 3 possible sets, see the list below for more information.
After that, he will ask you bring the required material to write your thesis.
Once you bring him the items, you can start writing your thesis by choosing sentences he present to you to select from. Just use common sense to choose the sentences and complete the thesis. When you are done, you will get a Book[3].

7B. Physics Class
If you were assigned to the Physics Professor, head outside then north to the smallest island in Juno. You'll find the Biology-Engineering Institute (Also referred by the Practical Examination Professor as the Somatology Laboratory).
Talk to the professor, Aebecee George, and he will ask for items before you can start the lecture. He will ask for:
- 30 Stone
- He will give you a Wind of Verdure, Green Live, and Crystal Blue and ask for you to craft them into 50 Arrow of Wind, 50 Stone Arrow and 50 Crystal Arrow which you can bring in advance.
- 1 Holy Water
Once you give that to him, he will begin his lecture. You can choose to pay attention, or simply refer to this guide instead.
Once he finishes the lecture, he will ask you for 5 items in order to write an essay:
- 1 Feather of Birds
- 1 Trunk
- 1 Squid Ink
- 1 Animal Skin
- 1 Empty Bottle
Once you bring him the items, you can start writing your thesis by choosing sentences he present to you to select from. Just use common sense to choose the sentences and complete the thesis. When you are done, you will get a Book[3].
7C. History Class
If you got the History Professor, exit the room and head over to the room at the end of the hall. Talk to the professor, and he will ask that you bring something to him that is related to Yggdrasil. You can bring any item that has the word Yggdrasil in it (Yggdrasil Leaf, Yggdrasil Berry, Yggdrasil Seed) although the leaf is the easiest and cheapest to find since it's sold by NPCs. Once you give it to him, he will begin his lecture.
During his lecture, he will ask you to bring him some items in order to complete your thesis:
- Feather of Birds x 1
- Animal Skin x 1
- Trunk x 1
- Squid Ink x 1
- Empty Bottle x 1
Once you bring him the items, you can start writing your thesis by choosing sentences he present to you to select from. The selections are based on his history lecture, if you have read what he said you should do just fine.
The following thesis had proven to be working so far:
A giant snake Yormungandr.
Utgard where titans live,
Midgard, where humans live in,
Asgard, where gods live.
A giant ash tree.
Asgard, Jotunnheim, Niflheim
can restore half of total HP and SP.
When you are done, you will get a Book[3].
8. Go head over to the Sage Castle on the top left-hand island, find Magic Academy Headmaster NPC and hand the dean your thesis. He will then change your job to Sage.
