This status causes the following effects:

  • Defence gained from VIT is reduced by 50% (server specific change, up from 25%)
  • HP is reduced by 2% per second (server specific change, up from 1%/sec)
  • SP regeneration is disabled

Developer Comment: Poison as a status was not very detrimental and was easily countered in PVP due to Green Potions and Herbs. While the curing methods are unchanged, the detrimental effects of poison will make it a higher priority to counter in PVP/GVG settings. More importantly, the PVE setting is improved by giving those who inflict poison the ability to dispatch mobs faster.

To remove this status effect use:

  • Green Herb, Green Potion, Panacea, Royal Jelly, Thief's skill - Detoxify can undo the effect.
  • Having high VIT and LUK will reduce amount of time this ailment affects you, as well as chance of being affected.
  • Priest's Renew prevents damage taken from poison but does not cure the reduced DEF effect.

Card effects:

  • Argiope Card grants Poison element, and immunity to Poison attacks, but not the poison status itself.
  • Ghoul Card increases resistance to poison by 20%.
  • Poporing Card allows use of Detoxify.
  • Venomous Card has a 30% chance of inflicting poison to self and a 30% chance of inflicting poison on the attacker when receiving physical damage.

Equipments:

  • Gas Mask increases resistance by 30%.
  • Oxygen Mask increases resistance by 20%.
