Overview

Rogues are a versatile class excelling in all PvM, PvP and WoE. With their strip skills, Rogues can render most classes useless in a PvP environment. With Snatcher, a Rogue can obtain double the loot another class could gather in the same amount of time. Rogues can wield bows, daggers, or swords and can copy a variety of player skills to help them level.

Set Items
Set 1 6 Blue Herb, 10 Skel Bone, 10 Decayed Nail, 10 Horrendous Mouth
Set 2 10 Green Herb, 10 Garlet, 10 Snake Scale, 10 Crab Shell
Set 3 10 Yellow Herb, 10 Bear's Footskin, 10 Shell, 10 Grasshopper's Leg

There are 2 parts to this test. First part is to collect some items and pay a fee of 10,000z. There are 3 possible item sets you might get assigned to, see the list above.

5. Once you give him the items and zeny, the second test will begin. In the second part, you will have to go find an NPC. Determined randomly, you might be assigned to find Aragham Junior, Hollgrehen Junior, or Antonio Junior. You will be given a password that will let you get to those NPCs. Remember the passwords.

  • Aragham Jr. Fortress Saint Darmain (South) cmd_fild09106195 Password: Aragham never hoarded upgrade items.

  • Hollgrehenn Jr. Fortress Saint Darmain (South) cmd_fild09335143 Password: My father never hoarded upgrade items.

  • Antonio Jr. Kokomo Beach cmd_fild04302177 Password: Antonio doesn't enjoy destroying upgrade items.

6. As soon as you are inside you will be asked if you are ready to enter to maze. You will be able to hide from any monster you encounter in the maze. A good tip would be just stay close to the wall. If you fail the first time, just try it until you get it right.

The map below represents the maze. The tiles marked in blue will summon monsters onto the nearby red tiles when you step on them. (Be careful not to touch them if you retreat, touching them more than once will summon more than one mob):

7. Once you escape from the maze, talk to the Rogue Guildsman who will promote you to Rogue.

Thieves changing into Rogues at Job Level 50 will be given a Gladius [3] as a reward; those changing below 50 will receive a Gladius [2].

Class Data

Payon Stories Balance Changes

See Class Rebalance (Rogue) for detailed information.

  • Strip Weapon: When successfully used on monsters, reduces their attack by 40%, up from 25%.
  • Strip Shield: When successfully used on monsters, reduces their hard defense by 30%, up from 15%.
  • Strip Armor: When successfully used on monsters, reduces their VIT (soft defense) by 70%, up from 40%.
  • Strip Helm: When successfully used on monsters, reduces their INT by 30% and MDEF by 20%. The old skill reduced INT by 40% (this change has a much more detrimental effect on high MDEF monsters).
  • Sword Mastery: Each level of Sword Mastery grants the Rogue double attack with swords equal to a 7% chance per skill level of Sword Mastery, assuming the Rogue has the equivalent level of Double Attack learned.
  • Back Stab: Allows the player to cast this skill from 3 cells away and close the gap between an enemy and the Rogue by causing the Rogue to "jump" behind the enemy and doing the Back Stab attack. The cast delay is now 3.4 Sec - 0.1 Sec Per skill level.
  • Preserve: Notably, this skill is a Transcendent Class skill that has been provided to Rogues early. This is to assist with Plagiarism builds to make them more enjoyable and streamlined without heavy constant reliance on other players to supply the skills needed to maintain the skill. Requires Level 10 Plagiarism and 1 free skill point to learn. Once activated, Preserve will stay on permanently (until you turn the skill off).
