General WoE Information

War of Emperium on Payon Stories server occurs weekly on Saturday at 22:00 GMT to 23:00 GMT (server time) and is divided into Seasons. Guild Seasons will last a period of 10 weeks, followed by 2-4 weeks of break (that will consist of standings tallying, reward distribution and next season changes implementation).

WoE Information:

  • Time: Saturday, 22:00 to 23:00 (Timezone: GMT)
  • Guild Cap: 22 Members
  • Participation: Only whitelisted guilds (submitted by WoE GM) can participate in Payon Stories WoE
  • Season Duration: Every Guild Season lasts a period of 10 weeks
  • Castles: Each season castles will randomly be selected. Number of castles may vary depending on WoE population changes.
  • WoE Rewards: In addition to castle ownership, a Seasonal Point System will be implemented during every to provide all guilds a chance to earn valuable loot for actively participating in WoE.
  • WoE Supplies Shop: Available

Woe Season Details: Before each WoE Season starts, a list of the key seasonal details will be provided by WoE GM in server discord #annoucement channel. Please make sure to keep an eye on WoE Details or any further updates before and during each WoE Season.

WoE Guilds Whitelisting

To participate in the WoE, you must have your guild whitelisted by submitting an online application form. Application forms can be found in server discord #annoucement channel before each season starts. To qualify for whitelisting, your guild must have at least 4 active WoE members.

Please note that only whitelisted guilds will be allowed to enter castles during the season. New guilds can request whitelisting at least 24 hours before the start of WoE, but they might not be approved until after WoE if the request is not made within the 24-hour timeframe.

Castle Information

Each season, castles will randomly be selected by the WoE GM.

As the season progresses and the WoE population changes, the number of castles during different WoE Seasons will vary. WoE GM has the authority to open a castle to expand the overall field of combat, or to close a castle to condense it. The WoE GM has the authority to give compensation in the event that a castle with considerable economy points is closed, but compensation is not defined or guaranteed. The WoE GM has the authority to alter the drops and rate of drops of castles in the event of a castle closure or a castle opening.

Castles will have different treasure loot tables. Owning a castle entitles your guild to treasures. Each castle will spawn four treasures per day, with an additional treasure spawn for every 5-economy invested into the castle, up to a maximum value of 60 economy, equivalent to 16 treasure chests per day. Breaking an emperium will reduce the economy of the castle by 5 each time that the emperium is broken.

Castles also provide a guild the full waiving of the guild dungeon access fee so long as the castle is held by that guild. Treasure is spawned based on the previous day's economy.

WoE Battle Parameters

Before each WoE Season starts, a list of the key battle parameters and other seasonal details will be provided by WoE GM in server discord #annoucement channel. Note that this list is subject to change at the discretion of the WoE GM when it is deemed necessary.

Battle Parameters list will include key information such such: guild cap limitations, guild skill usage, alliances, economy and defence caps, player skill limitations, etc.

Please make sure to keep an eye on WoE Details or any further updates before and during each WoE Season.

Battlegroups and other Rules

Each guild and guild member hereby agrees to the following rules to maintain fairness. A “Guild Group” is defined as not only the main guild that carries the name, logo, and brand of a guild, but also any subguilds, slave-guilds, and alternative guilds created with the purpose of housing overflow members, casual guild members, or alts.

Only members of the main guild that is registered as a participating guild and representing the Guild Group will be allowed to enter. Other guilds within the Guild Group will be blacklisted from entry. Attempts to circumvent this 22-person cap will be dealt with harshly. Any guild attempting to circumvent this rule will

  1. lose any castles immediately
  2. be blacklisted from participating for the remainder of the season.

Additionally, in severe circumstances of cheating, a guild may be dissolved by force, losing all experience and learned skills. Only approved guilds will be allowed to enter castles and you must submit a request for approval before you will be able to enter. We put these terms in place to protect the integrity of the WoE environment.

Battle-Groups: In the event that two guild entities in WoE act in a highly coordinated manner that is considered by the WoE GM to be disruptive to the competitive environment of WoE, they might be considered to be one battle-group. The WoE GM will issue a warning to them in this case, in an attempt to break up the highly cooperative behavior.

Cross-Merging: A large number of guild members from one WoE guild merging into another guild for WoE is considered cross-merging, and might violate the separate battlegroup rule. Please discuss this with the WoE GM beforehand to ask for guidance and approval.

Emperium Break Trading and Seasonal Points Rigging: Cooperative play between two guilds for the purpose of farming seasonal points from a castle in an unfair way could be considered to be seasonal points rigging. An example of this would be letting a guild break your emperium for the purpose and intention of them getting points while stopping other guilds from doing so. If you have questions about this rule please contact the WoE GM.

Spirit of the Rules and Evolution of the Rules: Rules will never be perfectly written, and WoE rules especially are young. With this in mind, WoE players and guild leaders are expected to:

  • Consider the spirit and intention of the rules thus far, and be mindful of them.
  • Ask questions to the WoE GM if something isn’t clear or understood.
  • Be cooperative as rules evolve over time.

Seasonal Point System

In addition to castle ownership, a Seasonal Point system will be implemented to provide all guilds a chance to earn valuable loot for actively participating in WoE. After the regular season of 10 weeks has concluded, a final tally and validation will occur 1 week after the last WoE of the season. Thereafter, in the following week seasonal rewards will be distributed to each guild leader who has qualified for a reward.

Points are earned in three ways and are additive and combined after each WoE:

  • Attendance Points (Participation)
  • Defense Points (Holding Castles)
  • Offense Points (Breaking Castle Emperiums)

Attendance Points

Every participating guild member’s time spent on a castle map will be tracked while WoE is in progress. Following the end of that WoE, all time on WoE castle maps for each player will be totaled. If that player has spent 20 minutes or more on the castle maps, then 50 seasonal points are awarded to that player’s guild. Each week, guilds can earn up to 500 attendance points through this attendance tracking feature. Therefore, even smaller participating guilds may get full attendance points as only 10 people need to participate each week for the required 20 minutes per person to earn the full 500 attendance points

Defence Points

Defense is important to guilds and if a guild is actively defending a castle, they will be entitled to receive points. Depending on the length of time a castle is held, a certain number of points will be rewarded to a guild. Points will be awarded first, based on the economy of the underlying castle being held, and then by tracking the minutes spent defending that castle during WoE. Note that each castle has a unique tracker of time, so holding one castle for five minutes and another castle for five minutes does not equate to ten minutes of holding time as each castle is independent when rewarding these defense points.

Offence Points

Attacking castles and breaking emperium will also reward guilds with points. Each successful break of a castle emperium for different economy levels will provide a certain number of points with diminishing returns (once a castle emperium is broken during a WoE, the points awarded for subsequent breaks quickly diminishes).

WoE Supplies Shop

The WoE Informant NPC (oldnewpayon 50, 149) will trade WoE Supplies in return for Tokens.

After WoE ends, up to 22 characters from each guild that received any points will also receive certain number of tokens. Tokens amount may be altered during the season if deemed necessary. In order to be eligible, the account needs to have been inside castles for 20 minutes in total (can be split between multiple characters). Only one character from each account can receive tokens (the one with highest participation time). If more than 20 accounts in a guild are eligible, those with higher participation time are prioritized. The tokens are handed out when WoE ends through RODEX.

These tokens can be exchanged for WoE Supplies (i.e. WoE Potions, WoE Boxes). Please note that these potions can only be used in WoE castles, and the boxes can only be used in Towns (not in inns).

Guild Dungeon Access NPC

Castles provide a guild the full waiving of the guild dungeon access fee so long as the castle is held by that guild.

Other players (even those who don't participate in WoE at all) can also enter guild dungeons by talking to special NPC located in north Payon - Guild Dungeons Administrator (oldnewpayon 53, 135) and pay entrance fee. First time entrance is free of charge, every next attempt will cost a multiple of 5k zeny (i.e.: 5k, 10k, 15k, etc.), up to a maximum fee amount of 25k zeny per entry.
